DIG of Hazaribagh Division Upendra Kumar said on Thursday that crime graph was on decline in entire division. He presented the comparative charts of crime in October 2014 and October 2015. As per the chart, 13 per cent less cases have been registered in the police stations of Hazaribagh, Chatra, Koderma, Ramgarh and Giridih districts of the division.
The DIG informed that in October 2015 police rescued 78 child labors from different parts of the division and handed them over to the child welfare units of the concerned districts. The Giridih police nabbed a most wanted criminal booked under CCA Act in October, which is an achievement.
Police is also playing a good role in the field of social service. All district units organized blood donation camps in October 2015 in which more than 350 units of blood were collected by the Red Cross Societies of the concerned districts. Besides this in entire division police played an important role during the festivals through their held desks.
Talking about the future plans Kumar said that to control activities of anti-social elements and criminals they are trying to install CCTV cameras in all the important places of every district. Initially CCTV cameras have been fitted in Koderma and Giridih town area which are proving beneficial for the department.
Hazaribagh police has also sent a request to JAP-IT to provide CCTV cameras to keep eye on the notorious elements. DIG hoped that soon Hazaribagh police will also get required number of CCTV cameras for the town area. I have directed all the Superintendent of Police of other districts to send such request to JAP-IT as soon as possible and hope that by the end of November requisition letter from all districts will go to the state headquarter.
