The weekly CM Janta Darbar this Wednesday saw some family disputes, where State Water Resources Minister Chandra Prakash Choudhary offered lawful solutions to plaintiffs after consulting with responsible officials.
Troubled with concerns about her seven-year old son’s upbringing and persecution at the hands of her in-laws, Seema Das requested Choudhary to persuade her husband to accept her.
“My husband has been harassing me for dowry since our marriage in 2008. Fed up with the torment, I filed a case of dowry harassment against him, and he has been outright brutal since then. When I was pregnant with my son, my family members brought me back to my maternal home. After this, he has not been in touch with me nor has shown any interest regarding our son’s future,” a sobbing Seema told the Minister.
Manoj has even got himself transferred to Chief Minister’s secretariat-cum-camp office at Dumka to escape us, she said.
Knowing that, Manoj is a state government employee at the, Choudhary instructed Personnel Secretary Santosh Kumar Satpathi over telephone to initiate departmental action against him.
“All I want is to lead a normal family life with my husband, but it is difficult to put up with his abusive nature. I am willing to withdraw the dowry complaint I filed, but he should treat me with respect,” Seema said.
“Mere words will not be the end of it, stringent action will be taken against any government official who is found to be indulged in immoral acts of harassment,” stated Choudhary after asking Personnel Secretary to suspend Manoj.
like every other Janata Darbar preceding this one, cases of land grabbing and land disputes were aplenty. Vishwanath Bhagat from Vasant Bihar came with a case of land mafia encroaching on Government land in Pundag area of Ranchi.
“There are some who are illegally taking over 3.2 acres of gair majrua government land. I have been writing to the authorities on this since April and have even tabled my complaint at two previous Janata Darbars. Ranchi DC even ordered construction work of any kind to be stopped on the plot, but this instruction has fallen on deaf years. Work is still going on to erect a boundary wall around the plot,” Bhagat said.
When asked by the Minister, Ranchi DC Manoj Kumar confirmed that construction work is prohibited on the plot in question by virtue of his order. He also assured that a team will be soon dispatched to inspect the piece of land and any violation of the ban order will be dealt with accordingly.
