Two lovers fled their houses and spent the night inside a forest area before committing suicide on Thursday morning, police said. They were found hanging from two ends of a plastic rope flung across the branch of a tree at Barwapani forest area in Nawadih block in Bokaro district.
According to reports Kartik Soreon (35), belonging to Raillybera village in Pannk area in Nawadih block and his 25-year-old lover Surji daughter of Deepen Soren lived with her family at Gujandih in Visungrah area in Hazaribagh. On Wednesday evening, the girl had left her house and met with Kartik Soren near Pannk area, sources said.
Police said they seemed to be discussing the future of their relationship. The two kept their relationship under wraps until Surji’s family decided to get her married in near future. The girl’s family didn’t approve of her relationship and she was depressed, police said.
The police alleged that Kartik and Surji made a suicide pact because they were not allowed by their families to marry as they have personal reasons.
