Country’s economy in shambles: Soren

Chief Minister Hemant Soren today said that preparations are on (by the Centre) to fulfill the requirements of the entire country with the resources of Jharkhand. Talking to media persons here on Tuesday the CM said that an amount of more than Rs 5000 crore goes as a cess from Jharkhand, which goes into Centre’s pocket.

The CM said that the Central government is again trying to confuse the states in the matter of GST. “Recently GST council meeting was held. In a nutshell the economy of the State and the country has already been hugely strained. The Centre has utterly failed to control the situation and the situation has come when in near future the country has to see very bad days,” he said.

“The way the Centre is trying to trap states in the GST issue, we understand and take it very seriously.

We are working on the issue and will put forth our concerns very seriously. Our producing State has to bear the brunt of Centre’s policies. This will not be tolerated. We will fight for our rights at any cost and put forth our issues at all available platforms,” said the CM.

The CM said that there are several issues on which the State government is working and trying to find out ways to augment revenue and get back its dues from the Centre.

Meanwhile, praising Dr. Smriti the CM tweeted on Tuesday that the role of a warrior and saviour has been played by Dr. Smriti during this critical Corona period. “Plasma donation is an important donation, life donation. My appeal to the people who conquered the corona is to donate plasma, support the fight against corona infection,” he said.

The CM was informed that Dr. Smriti was performing the duty of being a Doctor during the corona period. Then she herself got infected, but she did not lose courage and recovered from Corona. Dr. Smriti also donated plasma to treat other patients.

The CM said that one and a half lakh tests were done in one day in Jharkhand. “This is probably the most tests done in a single day in the country.

Despite its limited resources, the present government is fully committed to the service, safety and health of every Jharkhand resident. I appeal to all not to leave the house without masks,” he added.
