A picketing was organised against corruption by all the ward councilors and a group of common men in front of municipal corporation office. It was also supported by many social organizations.
The main issue was to check the land scam and to pay to the beneficiaries of Ambedkar Awas within 24 hours. They also wanted the false accusations against Amiya Kumar Gupta a ward councilor to be withdrawn. The programme was presided by a socialist Kanwaljeet Singh. Ward councilor Sazzad Khan and Kamla Devi said that the MC has become a house of corruption. An attempt had been made to purchase the land with the stamp papers worth several lakhs without holding any meet of board or informing any ward councilor.
There had been a ban on the purchase of stamp papers after intervene of DC. They want to conduct a meeting with no delay and cancel the purchase of stamp papers. Ward councilor Avinash Kaur and Adil Kareem Said that the executive officer and the president are indulged in murky deals and are ignoring the ward councilors. Ward councilor Anita Dutta and Shamima Khatoon said that the false accusations charged against Amiya Kumar Gupta should be withdrawn and cleanse should be assured in all the wards. Ward councilor Ravi Narayan and Kahkansa Afrin told that the JE Vinod Kumar should be given a penalty transfer. Besides it, Ezaz Malik, Sagar Verma, Md Bablu, Kailash Dasaundhi from social view desk demanded the purchase of land after permission of the board. Neeraj Kunwar from PUCl said that the president has thrown cold water on the expectations of public.
