Coronavirus is down but not out, warns civil surgeon Palamu

Published on:

Civil Surgeon, Palamu, John F Kennedy, at a press briefing here today said people must not be in any illusion or fake belief that Coronavirus is all out rather it is down but not out and hence it stands more a risk to life. Kennedy said that there is now a feeling among the people that Coronavirus is finished, which is far from the truth.

He said this has made people more careless about the health protocol which is most dangerous. Kennedy said on an average we conduct one thousand testing for Coronavirus a day here even now which itself explains the unseen enemy is around.

He said this last week we had conducted more than 8, 000 testing for Coronavirus. The civil surgeon said our front line workers are not coming forward for the jabs of the Coronavirus vaccine.

As against more than 9,000 front line workers here till this Sunday little over 3,000 front line workers had taken the shot.

Kennedy said this is disappointing so far the percentage of the front line workers is concerned which is 36 percent.

He said  the turn up of the health care workers was 88 percent. The front line workers should know they are harming their own prospects of health.

Secretary, Health Department K K Soan has asked the district health officials to ensure frontline workers do not miss their date and information education and communication regarding this must not be any scale down.

Kennedy said that enthusiasm for Coronavirus vaccination is meagre in the front line workers which it should not be at all.
