The Covid-19 cases on Sunday crossed 2,800 as 53 fresh cases of infections were reported from different parts of State. With recovery of 53 fresh cases the number of corona positive cases in State has reached to 2,807. Sunday was relief for State as no casualties were reported from any parts of State.
On Saturday four persons died of the infection with number of deaths in State reaching to 19. However most of persons who died of infection on Saturday were suffering from other ailments either kidney or heart problem.
The 53 cases which were reported from different parts of State includes 15 from East Singhbhum, 10 from Lohardaga districts. Cases were also reported from Simdega, Saraikela and Sahibganj districts. Five cases were reported from Ranchi too.
While on one hand Covid 19 cases is increasing day by day, the cause of concern is that recovery rate has gone down in State.
The recovery rate which was 77 per cent a week back has now dropped to 72 per cent today. On Sunday while 53 cases were detected only five persons recovered from infection.
The number of active cases is 743 while 2,045 persons have discharged from hospital after they won the battle against the infection. Out of 2,800 cases migrant positive cases district wise from May 2 onwards is 2,100. With death of four persons on Saturday the mortality rate too has increased a little bit. The State mortality rate is 0. 67 per cent. However the national mortality rate is 2.86 per cent.
The four persons who died on Saturday there cremation was done today but the cremation of bodies of two Covid-19 victims near the crematorium at Bhuniyadih you under Sitaramdera police station early on Sunday morning took an ugly turn when violence erupted at Subernarekha crematorium following slum dwellers violent opposition.
