Cops to donate plasma for serious Covid patients

State Police are once again emerging as one the biggest hopes for the government to fight the coronavirus pandemic. Policemen who have recovered from coronavirus infection have decided to donate their plasma for serious patients fighting the infection.

Coronavirus infected policemen who are kept at an isolation centre near the new Assembly building are provided counselling making them mentally strong to win the battle against pandemic.

At the isolation centre near the new Assembly building, the cops who are undergoing treatment are counselled by Dr Sheela and Dr Renu Kanth, who are treating these policemen. The cops are not only making them mentally strong encouraging them to win the war against corona but are also motivated to donate plasma.

Several cops undergoing treatment at isolation centre have taken a pledge that after recovering from the infection they will donate plasma to save the lives of the people.

For the counselling of policemen, all policemen are being seated with physical distance on the ground and are counselled through loudspeakers.

Significantly, a 500-bed Covid-19 management (isolation) centre has been set up for police personnel in the rehabilitation building located at Kute village, in which only policemen and their families are being treated.

Police personnel are responsible for the maintenance and operation of this isolation centre. Separate teams have also been formed for the treatment of policemen and their maintenance and help. In particular, deputation of police officers has also been done.

Policemen recovering from corona infection have also pledged for plantation. The cops undergoing treatment have decided to plant a sapling at rehabilitation building premises followed by deciding to plant sapling at different places so that there is no shortage of oxygen in the environment.

Stressing the importance of oxygen in the corona epidemic, the cops have vowed to protect the environment.

Plasma donation is not new for cops as last year too, several police personnel recovered from Covid, joined a special drive at RIMS for voluntary donation at plasma bank.

Police have played a stellar role in the fight against the virus, from being frontline warriors by handling law and order and feeding thousands during the lockdown to creating awareness about various safety measures.

Moreover, the State Police are conducting intense awareness drives across all 24 districts to make sure that people are complying with the Swathya Suraksha Saptah (health safety week) norms, brought in force to check the spread of novel coronavirus.

Along with help from the respective district administration, the cops are conducting flag marches, sticking posters laying down the dos and don’ts, using loudspeakers to ask people to refrain from going out unless necessary, using audio-visual clips to spread the message further among everyone.
