Three policemen, including Officer-in Charge and two sub-inspectors (SI), were on Thursday suspended in connection with alleged suicide of an accused in lock-up.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Surendra Kumar Jha issued suspension orders of these policemen posted in Saria Police Station near here, an official said.
Officer-in Charge Bikash Paswan and SI R.N. Singh and one other were placed under suspension on charge of dereliction of duty, said Superintendent of Police (SP) Surendra Kumar Jha.
A probe is also going on in the matter which is being conducted by Judicial Magistrate (First Class), he said.A 34-year-old man, arrested in burglary case, allegedly hanged himself in lock-up at Saria Police Station, nearly 50 kms away from Giridih,on Thursday morning.Shakil Ahmad, a resident of Delhi, was found hanging from an end of a ventilator inside the lock up, police had said.
