Cops seek arrest warrant against Singhania brothers

While a hunt for Singhania brothers, accused of attacking Income Tax sleuths on Thursday is still on, police on Saturday sought warrant of arrest from the court for

arresting them. I-T officials had lodged an FIR on Thursday at the Kotwali police station alleging that they were attacked by the three brothers – Kamal, Vinay and Jai Kumar Singhania — while they had gone there to conduct a survey.

“A prayer for warrant of arrest was made in the court today. We are also trying to trace the three brothers who seem to have disappeared since the FIR was lodged,” said investigating officer in this case HG Das. “Yesterday, raids were conducted at their fire cracker wholesale outlet Trade Friends at Upper Bazaar in Ranchi,” he added.

FIR under Sections 307, 353, 34,341, 323, 353 and 342 of IPC has been registered against the three brothers charging them of obstructing Government officials while discharging their duties, attacking with an intention to kill and abducting them during a survey conducted at the outlet.

The IT official have also alleged that Singhanias wanted to kill them then and there as they did not want any papers or documents to go out from their outlet. In the FIR, the whole episode was dubbed as preplanned in order to divert their attention and shift the documents and other illegal things to some other places.
