Cops crack down on auto-rickshaws

Published on:

The District Travel Officer Sabbir Ahmad ran a check drive at Barwa Toli chowk. He checked all the essential documents of auto rickshaw drivers and enquired of the fare. He was told that the pre-fixed fare by the drivers is being charged in spite of several reductions in the cost of the diesel. Ahmad directed the auto drivers to re-decide the fare in ratio of decreased rate of diesel. If it will not be followed, strict action will be taken against them.

On the occasion, the auto drivers also demanded to control the pressure horns inside the city. They are not able to listen the horns of the two-wheelers in the presence of vehicles with pressure horns. This causes the accidents many a time. Ahmad assured them to remove the pressure horns from all the vehicles.  Chief assistant Suresh Thakur was also present during the drive.
