The SP Palamu Patel Mayur K lal has put under suspension a cop identified as H Singh who on May 15 in a state of inebriation flaunted the official carbine in a highly congested market here in Daltonganj. It was sheer providence that the carbine did not open as there would have been a blood bath in the market. Patel has confirmed the suspension and initiation of departmental proceedings against the cop saying his medical test proved him heavily drunk. The Daltonganj police had a tough time in taming him as he smashed the table glass of the OC chamber of the Daltonganj police station and hurled abuses on every cop of this police station who locked him up for his safety.
