Contract Cell Works (CCW) department of Rourkela Steel Plant has created a new record by placing service contract orders of highest value since inception. Orders worth Rs. 454.82 crores have been placed till Dec 2022 in the 1st 3 quarters of the current financial year, which is an all time record in the history of RSP. Further it is expected to surpass Rs. 500 crores at the present rate of order placement. It is noteworthy that regular multiple service contracts have been merged together into single indents resulting in reduction of repetitive jobs, early finalization of jobs and increase in productivity and profitability.
With meticulous planning and foresight, the lead time for contract finalization has substantially decreased. At present, RSP is having the best lead time amongst all SAIL units with an average lead time of 60 day for contract finalization. These achievements of Contract Cell Works have paved the way for enhanced productivity and profitability for SAIL as an organization and RSP as a jewel in its crown.
