The district consumer disputes redressal forum, Garhwa ordered the company to pay more than Rs 3.40 lakh as compensation to the complainant, who was denied vehicle claim by Bajaj Allianz Insurance Company Limited, Ranchi.
The complainant, Binod Prasad, had taken a vehicle insurance whose validity was 17.06.2014 to 16.06.2015.
On 1:10, 2014, when he was carrying onions along with his driver in the pick up truck, his truck met with an accident which damaged the entire vehicle. He claimed Rs. 5 lakh as damage and Rs 15,00,000 for mental, physical harassment.
The complainant filed a claim before the company but they rejected their claim stating no statutory documents have been filed by the complainant which does not make his claim.
The complainants spoke to even the higher-ups in the company but it did not produce a result. The complainants then knocked on the doors of the forum. After perusing the evidence and records of both the parties, the forum , therefore, ordered the company to pay Rs 2,90618 as compensation to the complainant, along with Rs 50,000 as compensation for mental harassment.
