Conspiracy to impose President’s Rule using CRPF in State: JMM

Published on:

The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has termed the deployment of Central Reserve Police Force outside the CM residence during the interrogation of Chief Minister Hemant Soren in the land scam case on Saturday, as a conspiracy to impose President's rule in Jharkhand. The party said that this was probably an attempt to depose the current government and impose President’s rule here. JMM said that in view of the ED action, Ranchi district administration ensured the security of ED officials and gave adequate security to its office. More than 2,000 policemen and senior magistrates were appointed to maintain law and order, so what was the justification for deploying CRPF personnel there, it asked.

JMM, through a press release, today said that the public and workers were protesting against the biased action by the investigating agencies of the central government. Regarding this, the district administration had imposed prohibitory order under Section 144. Meanwhile, more than 500 CRPF jawans reached there in buses and trucks without taking permission from the district administration and tried to enter the CM residence. JMM alleged that CRPF jawans also clashed with their workers. JMM called it a provocative and illegal step. The party also said that if the workers had not exercised restraint, a violent situation could have arisen.

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has also made serious allegations against CRPF IG, calling it a pre-planned conspiracy. The party alleged that the IG wanted there to be a fight between the soldiers and the protesting workers. The protesters should become furious and attack the soldiers and the role of imposing President's Rule can be prepared by accusing the state government of failure of the Constitutional system. JMM said that CRPF did not have the right to take such action without the permission of the district administration. This was done at the behest of the Central Government. JMM has called it a cowardly attack on the federal structure. JMM said that the misuse of CRPF soldiers who play an important role in the internal security of the country is a matter of serious concern. JMM has demanded that strict legal action be taken against CRPF IG, Commandant and other senior officials. There should be a thorough and impartial investigation into the matter. If this does not happen then JMM will be forced to protest.

Meanwhile, responding to the allegations of JMM the BJP asked that by calling thousands of people yesterday with bows and arrows and weapons, was the Chief Minister trying to intimidate the country's judicial system, judges, central agencies or the Constitution of the country?

State BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdev said that it seemed that the Chief Minister, surrounded by corruption from all sides, was breaking all decorum to divert attention. Yesterday it seemed that the top leadership of JMM would force JMM workers to resort to violence. Pratul said that despite the imposition of Section 144, on the call of the Chief Minister, 10,000 workers of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha reached near the Chief Minister's house with weapons. Is the Chief Minister, through these workers, going to harm the judicial system of the country, the judges, the central agency or the Constitution of the country? This government was creating an atmosphere of fear, he said.

Pratul said that when prohibitory order under Section 144 was in force near the Chief Minister's residence. So after that how did the administration allow thousands of workers of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha to leave with weapons? Pratul said that there was a gathering of MLAs and ministers in the Chief Minister's residence without any reason.

He said that yesterday in all the TV channels, the call of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leaders and workers to attack and kill the ED officials was continuously seen. When the ED officials were leaving, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leaders and workers raised inflammatory slogans at them.

Pratul said that by then the situation had become so tense that it seemed that any untoward incident could happen to the ED officials. Pratul said that the Chief Minister himself kept making fun of the law. He himself did not go to the ED office for questioning. The CM himself wanted the situation to worsen and lathicharge to take place. If CRPF had not arrived yesterday, any untoward incident with ED could not have been ruled out.

Pratul said that the manner in which Jharkhand Mukti Morcha workers raised inflammatory slogans during interrogation violated Section 144. The fact that no case has been registered against them till now proves that this entire demonstration was sponsored by the state.
