A delegation of Congress on Friday met Governor Droupadi Murmu to hand over a memorandum to her relating recent disturbing incidents that happened in different parts of the State.
The delegation comprising Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Sukhdeo Bhagat and Congress legislative Party leader in the House Alamgir Alam apprised the Governor, especially about murders having taken place in Jamshedpur about a week ago and other incidents of crimes in the State.
“The State is in the state of misrule and mis-governance. Seven people had been lynched in the home town of the Chief Minister. All those who had been killed belong to minority section and poor but the administration is paying no heed. Even the CM did not visit the victims,” alleged the PCC chief, adding that the party has demanded for a judicial probe into the ghastly incident.
Bhagat along with a team of party office bearers had a couple of days back visited the villages of Jamshedpur where the lynching had taken place after rumor about child lifting got spread among the locals.
The Congress leaders also complained about deteriorating law and order situation in the State which included shoot out in Garhwa, communal tension in Hazaribagh and naxal incidents in Giridih and other places.
“It seems that the Government is unable to handle the situation properly. law and order should be the priority of any Government which is nowhere in Jharkhand. In the situation like this the claims of the Government about holding investors’ meet and Momentum Jharkhand are hollow. We have sought for intervention of the Governor into this,” said Alam.
This apart, the party in its memorandum also highlighted goof up that happened in the results of matriculation released by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) where several students were first declared failed and later after much hue and cry got passed.
“These all indicate that the Government is non-serious on even education. How come a revised result is coming after several rendered helpless and exposed to depressionIJ They are just playing with the future of young students,” said the PCC president after the meeting.
