Congress MlA Sukhdeo Bhagat has pulled up the Government for its poor show on economy front while quoting the economic survey presented for the FY 2017-18. Addressing a press conference the former PCC chief of the party blamed the BJP-led Government for mismanaging the affairs in the State.

“GSDP growth rate of the State was recorded at 6.7 per cent during the current financial year which was 8.5 per cent during 2016-17. Per capital income has also gone down. Growth rate of Jharkhand too slipped to 5.2 per cent from 7 per cent,” said Bhagat on Monday.

He further added that per capita income of the people is stagnant at 30 per cent lower than the national figure. “The Government went on presenting separate agriculture budget but in 2017 contribution of the sector in the economy 13 per cent from 15. Bank loan to the farmers has also seen a decline from 17.82 per cent to 15.76 per cent between 2015 and 2017,” said he.

The MlA claimed that out of the target to build 1.59 lakh houses for poor in the ‘Garib Kalyan’ year only 252 dwellings have been completed so far and went on quoting poor show on skill development programme, metro rail project, deteriorating health of women despite gender budget and overall malnutrition situation.

The MlA also underlined poor law and order situation under the dispensation and criticized Chief Minister Raghubar Das silence on the issue in his Budget speech.
