Congress does not want criminals to be arrested: Pratul Shahdeo

BJP State spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo has condemned the statement of former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay in which he said that they would gherao SSP's office on Friday. Shahdeo said the Congress does not want criminals to be arrested this is the reason why the party has announced to gherao the SSP’s office.

Due to Sahay’s announcement the attention of the police force of the entire district will be on the proposed gherao and this will pose a hurdle in arresting criminals.

He said the Ranchi Police recently solved Hora murder case, but none of the Opposition leader gave credit to the police.  He said in recent days there have been some incidents, and the police need to be more active.

Shahdeo said the BJP does not talk about the figures. But the leaders of the Congress and the Opposition should understand that when Hemant Soren's Government was in power in 2013-14 ( figures  of Ranchi district) 226 murders took place in 2013 and 222  in 2014. It decreased from 197 in 2016 to 177 in 2017.

The BJP State spokesperson said there were 29 incidents of robbery in 2013 and 26 incidents in 2014 which decreased in 2015 to 17 in 19 2017. He said that in 2013 there were 97 incidents of looting and in 2014 there were 111 incidents of robbery which in 2015 decreased to 104 and in 2017 it was 86.

He said police are involved in arresting those involved in  crime. But Congress party with its negative politics is trying to divert attention of police with gherao programme.
