Congress discusses future strategy

State Congress president Sukhdeo Bhagat has instructed all district unit heads of the party to prepare a consolidated detail report of the work taken up by them in their respective constituencies.

During a meeting at the party office with the representatives and district presidents from across the State on Tuesday, Bhagat said that it has become mandatory now to monitor the work being taken up by the representatives and also to get familiar with the status of committee work at district, block and booth level.

“As we are all familiar with the condition of this party, it is high time now that we must brainstorm on some core issues that need immediate attention. Monthly meeting at blocks and panchayats, details of the plans, central and State Government programmes that are being implemented in districts, revising some basic details like total number of Vidhan Sabha constituencies, present status of the constituencies and, most importantly, assuring whether the party workers are actively delivering their services or not is our priority,” said Bhagat.

He also emphasised that within the set deadline all the district presidents have to work and present the reports. “On or before April 10, all the district presidents have to present the detailed reports. Prominent local issues also must be mentioned. This is an attempt to empower and strengthen the party in all the 24 districts of the State,” Bhagat added.
