Congress  party today organised demonstrations  against Agniveer scheme at six locations across district amidst ongoing recruitment for all three wings of defense forces.

Assembly segment wise leaders were appointed who would lead the stir in different areas. However, it was only the old party members who sat on dharna.

District congress chief BP Singh said that former minister Mannan Mallik led a demonstration at Dhanbad Assembly segment by holding dharna at Randhir Verma square while State working president Jaleswar Mahto led dharna at Baghmara .

At Jharia, MLA Poornima Singh led the demonstrations while  Ashok Singh at Baliapur, Ajay Dubey at Nirsa and Madan Mahto at Tundi .

Demonstrations were  held at all six assembly segments from 10 am to 1 pm to oppose the move of the union government for a new recruitment policy in the army. Singh termed the scheme as unuseful as it would not solve the unemployment problem of the country.

The Most interesting part of the dharna  at all locations was that the youth wing of the party was missing. It was only  the fifty plus members of the party who sat on dharna at all locations. When pointed out Singh said we are staging dharma as directed by senior party leaders.
