In an attempt to support ongoing farmers' protest on the borders of National Capital against three farm laws of the Central Government, Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) will organise several programmes in the month of February. It was decided during a meeting chaired by JPCC Chief Rameshwar Oraon at the party headquarters here on Thursday. Senior party office bearers attended the meeting.
Addressing the party office bearers during the meeting Oraon said that the framers of the Country are making historic struggles and movements from the farms to street to save their lives and livelihoods and their present and future. "Due to Modi Government's nefarious intention, blood and sweat of the farmers will be sold in handful of capitalists for their benefit, which has been forcing them to sit on indefinite dharna on the border of National Capital," he added.
"Since the passing of these black laws, the Congress Party has been struggling against the Central Government's decision from the front. According to farmer organizations, more than 150 farmers have lost their lives during the protests till date, despite the Prime Minister and the arrogant BJP Government refusing to feel their pain or to judge and listen to their cries. BJP, through the Government, is making every effort to spread rumours that it is a fake movement and fake farmers are participating in it. Propaganda and illegal violence has been spread by the BJP to pacify the voice of farmers. Now it is constructing big walls and installing spikes to prevent the agitation, which is quite unfortunate," Oraon said.
JPCC Spokesperson, Alok Kumar Dubey said that following the instruction of All India Congress Committee (AICC) decision taken under the leadership of Oraon, in support of the farmers, in all blocks of Jharkhand, agitation will be oraganised by the party on February 10 through it the party will demand to withdraw the black farm laws. On February 13, the farmers' movement will be strengthened by taking a 10 to 20 km march in all the district headquarters of Jharkhand to oppose the three black laws. The state-wide tractor rally will be held on February 20 in Hazaribagh in which JPCC Incharge RPN Singh, will also participate.
Agriculture Minister Badal has been appointed as Convenor for all the movements which will be held in the month of February.
