With the launch of the social media platform of Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) and its Flag and Logo on Friday, the party has set a target of adding five lakh members across the State under the campaign “Save Democracy Save India, Join Congress Social Media”. In the name of “Become a Social Media Warrior”, this campaign will be run vigorously across the Country.

Speaking on the occasion JPCC Chief, Rameshwar Oraon said that at present the truth is being made a lie through social media in the Modi Government. “Some people all over the Country are working to discredit farmers through social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and others. Efforts are being made to end social harmony,” he added.

The Congress has started the 'Join Congress Social Media' campaign to connect people with social media. A missed call number 1800120000044 and WhatsApp number 7574000525 have also been issued under the campaign. Oraon said that this campaign will run with full vigour in all the districts. “Apart from publicizing the party's programs in this social media, the work will be done to counter the propaganda of the opponents, expose fake news and troll them by catching the weakness of the opposition leaders. Apart from this, the party will collect problems from state to national level under the campaign,” he added.

“Each warrior will be given the task of forming 10 WhatsApp groups in their respective areas. In this way, people will be connected to social media platforms through 50 lakh groups,” said Oraon.

Speaking on the occasion JPCC Social Media Coordinator Gajendra Singh said that under the campaign, 1000 volunteers will be made in each of the 14 Lok Sabha seats of the State. “The target has been set to make a total of 14,000 volunteers in the State. Similarly, a total of 1400  office bearers will also be appointed in all parliamentary constituencies of the State. This drive will be run from February 12 till 12 March.,” he added.

The party's Social Media Coordinator said that those people who write on social media against the policies of the Central Government, the party will contact them and connect them with the Congress. They will be told that we should fight together against the anti-national forces, he added.

All India Congress Committee, Social Media Co Incharge Vinay Kumar Dokania said that the party is preparing a plan to take this campaign to the booth level.
