Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Sukhdeo Bhagat echoed voice of the party at national level and underlined the need to organise protests against policies and acts of the State Government.
Addressing at party's ‘Jan Vedana Sammelan’ in New Delhi, organised in the leadership of party national vice president Rahul Gandhi, Bhagat counted on recent developments relating to tenancy laws to drive home his point.
“Just like its parent Government in Delhi, the BJP-led State Government is also taking similar anti-people steps in Jharkhand. It has betrayed the people of the State and brought in amendments in CNT and SPC acts. And when the poor tribal came out in protest, their voices are being suppressed with brutality,” said Bhagat on Wednesday.
He alleged that the State Government was working under the influence of corporate and was on a land grab spree. “No one is safe and secure under this Government. At least three firing incidents have taken place targeting the protestors. Women are being raped whereas the Government is drumming falsely about cashless economy. The State president also sought for a programme to be run across Jharkhand to oppose the steps and policies of the Government,” informed Alok Kumar Dubey, general secretary in the PCC who along with hundred other leaders is in Delhi to attend the programme.
During the meeting, all the State presidents have been told to prepare a protest plan and conduct agitations on streets opposing the recent decisions of the Centre.
