Congress has pointed on the educational qualification of Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani. According to a Press communiqué released on Sunday, Chairman of the Board of Governors of IIT-Bombay Anil Kakodkar’s resignation was related to Irani’s dominating behaivour.
IIT Delhi Director Raghunath K Shevgaonkar as the HRD Minister blamed his institute for opening of a new campus of IIT Mauritius. The objectionable statement of Irani regarding IITRA campus on April 27 was also among the points mentioned in the communiqué.
Also, it referred about the interference of the HRD Ministry in the Academic MoU. The violation of UGC’s independency by the same Ministry was also pointed.
