The three-member Congress panel formed to look into the matter of Agriculture Minister Yogendra Sao would in a day or two consult party workers of Badkagaon. The Congress MlA comes from the Assembly constituency.
The consultation from the ground level workers is the next step of the panel’s Sunday visit of Hazaribagh where it met the SP and some other officials to know the case. “We met SP Manoj Kaushik for half an hour and enquired about the matter. He revealed some information while refused to divulge others saying that police probe is already on and revealing much would be damaging for it. Our team would visit Badkagaon in couple of days to know from the people from the organization about the Minister,” said Shamsher Alam.
Alam is one of the members of the probe panel headed by Manoj Yadav of the party’s OBC cell. Jharkhand Women Congress chairperson Abha Sinha is also a member of the team which has been given time till September 11 to come-up with its findings and present a report to the PCC chief Sukhdeo Bhagat.
Sao often in the news for wrong reasons is again in the eye of the storm for the revelations made by an arrested member of ‘Jharkhand Tiger Force’.
Raj Kumar Gupta after being arrested by Hazaribagh police has revealed about the role played by the Minister in running the criminal activities of the gang and even named him for providing arms and financial assistances and collecting levy.
Since the allegations had surfaced, the under pressure Minister is said to be camping in Delhi after presenting weak defense before the party bosses, the CM and the media. He is not getting strong backing from desired quarters as Chief Minister Hemant Soren as well as his party had said him to come clean.
“If he is found guilty we would resign,” said ClP leader and his Cabinet colleague Rajendra Singh. Though the party has formed a panel the Government is yet to order investigation by the CID or any other competent agency to investigate.
“We are nothing to do with the police investigation. The law would take its own course. We have just to focus on organisational level probe which would be collected by taking views from the party workers of the area,” added Alam.
