Cong out to polarise, but people waiting to overthrow it: Naidu

Rallying fully behind its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi former BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu today said that the ongoing campaign for the lok Sabha elections has turned into a presidential form of polling.

He also said that the entire politics of the country has been centered around Modi, be in his favour or against him.Talking to press persons on Monday after his return from Hazaribagh where he accompanied BJP candidate Jayant Sinha for his nomination senior party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Naidu also blamed incumbent Congress-led UPA for the polarisation.

“People are waiting to overthrow the Congress and bring Narendra Modi. The sentiment is across the country and in all and sundry. This election has turned into a presidential form of election where neither candidate nor local issues are into the fray. But it is only Modi either in his favour or criticise him,” he said.

He also lauded the Gujarat Chief Minister for ‘3Ds’ quality into his personality namely-- decisiveness, dynamic and development. He opined that the qualities were demand of the hour as the country was living with policy paralysis, lack of leadership, threat of separatism and terrorism and inflation. “Even smaller neighbours of ours have stopped taking us seriously. That is why our main poll plank is going to be good governance and development,” said Naidu.

Naidu, on the occasion, pulled up Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her deputy Rahul Gandhi for betraying people with false promises and instead raking up issues irrelevant in present situation and aimed to deviate attention. The leader also expressed hope that the BJP-led NDA would touch a tally of 300 seats as the coalition was swelling with every passing day.

Cong out to polarise, but people waiting to overthrow it: Naidu

“Sonia ji- Rahul ji, it is you who are in the power and not the BJP. But you are criticising the BJP for the mess in the country as if it is in power! Mahatma Gandhi died in 1948. What is point in raising the matter now,” questioned the BJP leader.

“Earlier it was the BJP who was considered as untouchable in Indian politics but now the Congress taken over the tag. Their allies such as DMK, PMK, TRS, TMC are leaving the party and even BSP and SP have maintained a distance. Only two parties, one is Muslim league with one MP and another is National Conference, are with the Congress,” he said and added that the BJP would better its numbers this time from 12 lok Sabha seats out of 14 in Jharkhand.

Naidu also pulled Fronts of regional parties coming up and Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). “Third Front is a mirage and a tried and failed experiment. Federal Front has seven prime ministerial candidates. AAP has lost credibility by shaking hands with the Congress. It has proved a B-Team of the Congress. Voting to them is going to be futile exercise,” said he.
