Following the instruction of All India Congress Committee (AICC) on Wednesday Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) with limited number of party workers protested against the increase in the prices of petrol-diesel and LPG, under the leadership of JPCC Chief, Dr Rameshwar Oraon near Bapu Vatika at Morhabadi in the State Capital.
In this demonstration, Congress Legislature Party Leader, Alamgir Alam, Agriculture Minister Badal, Health Minister, Banna Gupta, former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahai, MLAs Pradeep Yadav, Bandhu Tirkey, Purnima Neeraj Singh, Bhushan Bada, Ramchandra Singh and Anup Singh were present.
Speaking on the occasion Oraon said that the slogan of Make in India was coined by former Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, but now the slogan of Sell in India is rising during the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “The people of the Country are uniting against the increase in the price of petrol and diesel under the leadership of Congress President Sonia Gandhi and senior leader Rahul Gandhi but the Central Government is working only keeping in mind the interests of its few capitalist friends,” he added.
“There has been a huge increase in the prices of food items to industrial goods. Earlier in the Congress rule, people used to say that it will take decades to reach the price of petrol and diesel at Rs 100, but today in the BJP Government the price of petrol and diesel has not only reached Rs 100 but has reached Rs 111 and the prices of both petrol and diesel became almost equal,” said Oraon.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion CLP Leader, Alamgir Alam said that the public is watching what has happened to the BJP's slogan of 'Acche Din', only BJP’s capitalist friends developed in seven years with the slogan of 'Sabka Saath and Sabka Vikas'. He said that the people of the Country can no longer tolerate the Government, if the Central Government cannot reduce the prices, then Prime Minister Narendra Modi should step down.
On this occasion, Banna Gupta said that during the Congress regime, when the price of petrol was Rs 62, BJP's Smriti Irani used to roam the streets demanding to reduce the price by hanging a strap around her neck, but in the Modi Government on petrol and diesel Rs 4.21 lakh crore tax has been collected. The price of petrol was increased by 298 percent and that of diesel by 830 percent, he added.
Subodh Kant Sahay said that when there has been a fall in the price of crude oil across the world, the increase in the price of petrol and diesel in the Country is beyond the comprehension of the common man. He said that now the time has come for the countrymen to take necessary initiative to comprehensively oppose the anti-people policies of the Central Government.
