Congress national spokesperson Ajoy Kumar on Tuesday attacked the Raghubar Das Government for misleading people and acting on the directions of the Prime Minister and the BJP chief. He alleged the Government was being controlled by the senior leaders in New Delhi.
Addressing a Press conference at Tilak Pustakalaya in Bistupur this afternoon, Kumar alleged Chief Minister Das has failed on every front and during past one year, he has made only announcements. He claimed that the Raghubar-led Government in the State had made several announcements at the time of elections but miserably failed to deliver on all fronts in its one-year rule.
The former Jamshedpur MP noted that the Chief Minister has so far taken no positive steps in the direction of providing ownership rights to 156 basti dwellers.
The State Government has also failed to make ration cards available to poor families. “I have gathered information that against the requirement of 19,000 ration cards in Potka, only 8,000 have been issued. Same is the case with Ghatshila where only 7,000 families possess ration cards against the requirement of 24,000,” Kumar added.
He also expressed an urgent need to increase the seats of the State assembly from 81 to 150. “We are of the opinion that an increase in the number of assembly seats will pave way for setting up of legislative council. The Chief Minister should initiate action in the regard,” Kumar said, adding the State Government only believes in giving assurances to the people.
“He is acting on the dictates of bosses in New Delhi. Das does whatever is told to him by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah,” the Congress national spokesperson said.
Coming down heavily on the NDA Government, Kumar added it was anti-poor, anti-Dalit and anti adivasi. When questioned about his views on the completion of one year of NDA Government in State, Kumar claimed that the law and order has hit an all-time low with broad daylight incidents of crime becoming a regular feature. He added that the situation at Jharkhand has become a matter of great concern. He also said that the criminals have regained confidence after law and order machinery has become ineffective.
