Congress workers and leaders held protests at all district headquarters across the Country on Friday for questioning Congress National Chief, Sonia Gandhi by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) under political vendetta. Similar protest was organised by the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) at all district headquarters.
A day before on July 21, a Gherao and Satyagraha program was organized in all the State Capitals across the Country. Congress held to show their solidarity to top leadership that they collectively stand by the party high command.
In order to hold a similar protest, Convener Organisation Empowerment Campaign, Alok Kumar Dubey, reached Gumla to make the program a success. The district president and other party workers took part in the protest.
Speaking on the occasion Dubey said that because of the nationalist articles of 'National Herald' the British Government had banned this newspaper for many years. “Today the Modi Government is also following the same path and troubling the people associated with it. The newspaper was founded by nationalists like Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Patel,” he added.
“It was not possible to repay the loan by National Herald and AJL running in the economic crisis, hence converting the debt into equity shares called 'Not-For-Profit' called Young Indian allotted to the company. The Congress party has already given the full account of the money. Between 2002 and 2011, a loan of Rs 90 crore was given in 100 installments to pay the liabilities of the National Herald running in economic losses. Now how can it be wrong to give loans. While the whole truth in the National Herald case, the cases related to it, ended 7 years ago, then by uprooting the dead bodies, the Central Government wants to divert attention from issues like inflation,” said Dubey.
Dubey said that this is the first instance in the Country, in which Gandhi taking or giving even a single rupee, yet there is money launderinG. “The ED misbehaviour and its politically motivated action is shocking to all. If the Congress had also taken similar action, today many BJP leaders including the Prime Minister would have been grinding mills behind the bars of the jail,” he added.
The Congress Leader said that as per the instructions of the State Congress in-charge Avinash Pandey, demonstrations were held in all the district headquarters. He said that the illusion is being spread by the Central Government that while answering the questions before the ED yesterday, Gandhi had asked for the time of July 25, but the truth has been clarified by Media In-Charge, AICC, Jairam Ramesh Gandhi also answered all the questions and said she can sit till 9 pm, but ED said you can go, your answers have been received.
Presiding over the meeting, Gumla District Congress Committee President Roshan Baruwa said that inflation is at its peak in the country, unemployment has eclipsed the future of the youth of the country.
