The Congress on Tuesday organised ‘Dhikkar Sabhas’ bashing the BJP-ruled Government for its alleged failure to maintain law and order in the State, CNT-SPT amendments and social unrest. 53 blocks of Ranchi, Gumla, Simdega, lohardaga and Khunti witnessed the protests.
In Ranchi, president of Mahanagar Congress Surendra Singh organized a dharna before Raj Bhawan to highlight the issues.
He cited incidents of communal tensions, murders, lynching, loot and police firing to draw home his point. “Criminals are not in the control of the Government and its machinery has completely failed to deliver. Forget about other parts, even the Capital is living with such a situation daily which suggest that criminals have no fear of law. In this situation the Government at helm has not right to remain there,” said Surendra Singh.
The party also demanded Rs 25 lakh as compensation to those who were lynched in recent incident at Jamshedpur. AICC appointed in-charge for the programme Sahjada Anwar also addressed partymen.
