Cong again gets 'positives' from Delhi

Yet another meeting of Congress leaders from the State to Delhi ended with “very positive” signals. leaders after attending the meeting with Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Friday said that the desired outcome may come within a week’s time.

Congress legislative Party leader Rajendra Singh, Jharkhand president Sukhdeo Bhagat accompanied by in-charge of the State Shakil Ahmed and national general secretary Janardan Dwivedi apprised Rahul about the situation of the party in Jharkhand, sentiments of legislators and also ways to strengthen the party in the State that has lone representative in the lok Sabha and 13 in the House of 81 in the Assembly.

“The meeting has been very very positive (on the front of Government formation). We are agreed on most of the matter more or less. Within a week time the matter would be finalised,” said Rajendra Singh while coming out of the meeting. Though, he did not forget to add that Rahul Gandhi instructed the leaders on organisational matters in the State at a length.

All the MlAs of the Congress are in agreement with each other on the Government formation front and have been rallying behind the cause here in Ranchi and also in Delhi. The latest effort seems to be final in this direction as the JMM, though not left with much option, has also started showing teeth.

“There is no difference among the MlAs and all are agreed to form a Government. Only those who are ex-MlAs are opposing this in the want of fresh election. But the issue is that how far they have been able to convey the urge to the central leadership. As far as I know, they would have just updated Rahulji and not more than that. The ultimate decision has to be taken by the parliamentary board and the high command,” said a Congress MlA requesting anonymity.

Notwithstanding the indications, it is certain that the Congress is still has to walk long miles to meet the target in Jharkhand. Majority of the Congressmen will have first come on board before final talks with the JMM to begin. Shakil Ahmed while talking to media in Delhi also indicated towards this on Friday. “There are differences in the party over Government formation. One section is in the favour of it while the other is against it. The high command is considering all the matters on the table before reaching any conclusion.”
