After completion of first phase of polling for fifth Jharkhand Assembly in which polling held at 13 Assembly Constituency on Friday Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) thanked voters for casting their votes peacefully in large numbers and claimed that the party with its allies will win 9 seats out of total 13 seats where polling held.

Addressing a press meet at the party head quarter JPCC Spokesperson Alok Kumar Dubey said that the Grand Alliance candidates are main contender on all 13 seats, the alliance candidates are in close contest with other candidates on two seats and only one or two seats are there where candidates from other parties’ can win but the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will be wiped out from the region and BJP’s candidates are not going to win a single seat out of the total 13 seats.

“Voting trend of first phase of polling displayed victory for the Grand Alliance candidates and it will continue till fifth phase. People of the State voted against misrule of BJP Government as the State Government has done nothing in providing basic amenities like electricity, roads, better education facility and health services,” said Dubey.

The party Spokesperson also said that voters are also voted against false statement given by BJP leaders on extremism. He defended Congress candidate KN Tripathy for using firearms during polling and said that Tripathy used it for his self defense.

Echoing similar views in a press meet Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) General Secretary and Spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said that form the first phase of polling for the State Assembly ‘Raghubar Hatao Jharkhand Bachao’ ( Remove Raghubar save Jharkhand) drive started.

Expressing gratitude to people for voting in such large numbers, Bhattacharya said that the people of the Palamu region and Gumla District braved the extremism to remove BJP Government from the State and they have set a trend in the first phase of polling which will last till fifth phase.

On question that on how many seats JMM candidates will win out of total 13 seats on which first phase of polling took place, the party General Secretary said that the party will perform excellent on all four seats where the party fielded its candidate in alliance with Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). The party candidates will get more than 50 thousand to One lakh votes on every seat, he added.
