The condition of 17-year-old gun-shot victim Sudhanshu Kumar who is struggling for life at the Tata Main Hospital continues to be serious. The  police have also succeeded to dig the source from which Sudhanshu’s classmate had procured the pistols used in the firing.

Police sources revealed that the Sudhanshu’s classmate who is accused of firing the shot had been provided the fire-arms by one of his neighbours, Sunny Singh (24).

Though Sunny is on run, the police have picked up two other youth having criminal background for interrogation  into the case.

“The probe is moving in the right direction. During interrogation, the accused student has revealed the name of Sunny Singh who had provided him the pistols two days ago. As Sunny has absconded we have picked two of his friends for interrogation for knowing about his whereabouts,” said officer-in-charge, Sakchi thana, Anjani Kumar Tiwary.

The officer-in-charge said it is yet to be established whether the accused student had intentionally fired at his classmate, but Sudhanshu’s father Devendra Kumar Gupta has in an FIR lodged with the Sakchi thana alleged that the accused student had fired at his son with an intention to murder.

“We hope to garner more details once Sunny is arrested.  We are sending the accused student to Ghaghidih Central Jail after producing him before a judicial magistrate this afternoon,” said Tiwary.

Tiwary on being queried, said they do not consider him as minor as he has failed in the school two or three years.

Sudhanshu who is a class XI student of Sakchi-based Dayanand Public School was shot at and seriously injured by his classmate in the classroom minutes before the assembly session started on Wednesday morning.  A critically injured Sudhanshu, who is a resident of Mango, was rushed to Tata Main Hospital where he is serious.

Sudhanshu’s condition continues to be serious as the pellet which has between the lungs and spine is yet to be taken out.
