In the chamber of Deputy Commissioner Sunil Kumar, General Manager NTPC, Pakri Barwadih-Keredari Coal Project Ravindra Singh Rathi gave the cheques of compensation amount to the victims of Pagar incident which took place last year in Keredari.
last year in Pagar police had opened fire on villagers in which one Keshar Mahto died and five others had got injuries. After several rounds of negotiation finally on Thursday, wife of Keshar Mahto and other five injured received the compensation amount. On this occasion DC advised both villagers and NTPC officials that before any such gathering or meeting, prior information must be given to the district administration so that arrangements could be made. He also advised the NTPC officials to deal with the villagers in presence of representatives of district administration. The villagers suggested of constituting a committee for negotiation in every village.
