Communally sensitive pockets and interstate cattle and illicit liquor smuggling are under the scanner of the police of the Palamu range which comprises three districts Garhwa, Latehar and Palamu.
In charge DIG of police Palamu range A V Homkar, who is primarily DIG police Ranchi range told the Pioneer on Friday , “I have directed our three SPs and other police officials to enlist communally sensitive pockets in their respective districts where our vigil will be round the clock.”
“We will hold series of meetings of both the communities to pledge never to give a miss to communal amity and harmony rather to pull out all misgivings for furtherance of harmony and peace,” said Homkar.
Dialogues between the communities serve far greater purposes and this will be encouraged and promoted said in charge DIG Palamu. Small and petty issues that may contain germs of far more disturbances will be resolved by us with active co operation of both the communities reiterated DIG. Sources said all eyes are now on the Ayodhya verdict which is most expected to come either on November 17 or before but it is equally believed y then there will be model code of conduct enforced by the ECI Delhi and which will keep people at bay from making any exhibition of their inner feelings.
Talking tough he said that those who are on bail but if found to be indulging in any manner or way a danger to communal harmony our police will again pray to court of law to cancel their bails reminded Homkar. Execution of warrants is right on our agenda and our pending investigations are to be completed with a sense of professionalism added he.
“Police will go after all such elements who have nurtured any delusion of getting away as police will not take time to go for preventive arrests too,” reminded the DIG.
There is an Action Plan to curb and foil interstate cattle and illicit liquor smuggling wherein all police stations falling in this range will do all to stop illegal ferrying of cattle and illicit liquor said Homkar.
Sources said cattle are brought in Jharkhand’s Palamu from Bihar’s Aurangabad, Dehri On Sone Sasaram places in all modes of vehicles from truck to container mostly in the dead of night.
Homkar said such misadventure on the part of the interstate cattle smugglers would be most firmly dealt with. As there is prohibition in Bihar illicit liquor of Palamu is smuggled in all shapes like pouches, bottles, jars etc and from luxury cars to straw laden lorries these are smuggled from here to Bihar said sources.
Homkar said, “Our mantra is simple and tough. Foil and abort every illegal and illicit activity.”
