Teaching and non-teaching employees of permanently affiliated colleges of Vinoba Bhave University on Wednesday protested in front of university office building in favour of their demand of either conversion of their colleges as constituent units or to give deficit grant.
The employees of these colleges are on the path of agitation since last December 16. It was the 24th day of their indefinite strike which has started with the dharna before State Assembly during last Assembly session. Since in last session the Government kept mum on their demands so they decided to fight for justice to their last breath.
Though the Government has hinted after the meeting of coordination committee on January 4 their genuine demands are going to be fulfilled but this time the employees want to see action and they are not in the mood to go back on mere assurances. As per the decision of their State executive on 8th January the employees of permanently affiliated colleges of VBU assembled in VBU premises and gave a Dharna before the Vice Chancellor Office in which about thousand teacher and non-teachings took part.
