A college-going girl committed suicide by hanging herself in her hostel here on Monday allegedly due to exam pressure. Megha Prajapati, who used to stay at Vinayakam girls hostel in Tarpakhana originally hailed from Bundu and was a first-year B.A. English Honours student in the Marwari College, Ranchi.
The police have recovered a suicide note which revealed that she was under stress due to her ongoing examinations. She had failed last year.
As the news spread, Ranchi's City DSP Rajkumar Mehta arrived at the spot. The girl's body was hanging from the outer wall of the hostel with a scarf.
The police have questioned the hostel's warden, owner and her friends in this regard.
The forensic team examined the place where the girl's body was found. However, the relatives have described the girl's suicide as suspicious.
The DSP revealed that the girl had taken her BA Part II examination in the college on November 3.
