After getting relief from court, ex-MlA Yogendra Sao is again in action. In reply to a few month old ‘Chita Satyagrah’ organised by
several other party leaders under the banner of intellectual forum of Barkagaon, Yogendra and his supporters have started ‘Kafan Satyagrah’ at Barkagaon to protest the ongoing mining work of NTPC.
The political observers of the area said that though his wife, MlA Nirmala Devi, herself is leading from the front and is staying at the Dharna site since early morning of September 16, this time the response of villagers is comparatively less than it was to the ‘Chita Satyagrah’.
Supposedly the Sao couple has started this ‘Kafan Satyagrah’ to get back his ground he had earned from the fight against NTPC. Other opposition parties have actually stolen the ground by getting huge response to their ‘Chita Satyagrah’ and that is the reason of Sao couple’s unrest.
Ex-MlA Yogendra Sao didn’t reach on the spot for more than 24 hours after the start of this agitation but as he got the news of cold response, he himself appeared in the scene with a good gathering of supporters to show strength.
He gave a motivating speech there and recalled how the villagers have got increased compensation amount some years ago. He once again tried to convince the villagers to join the agitation to get benefited again but the number of agitators failed to go up.
Irked with this cold response, on Tuesday evening MlA Nirmala Devi and other Sao supporters tried to enter in the mining area forcefully. Alert administration team controlled the situation and avoided any untoward incident. After about one hour of chaos the Sao supporters returned back to the Dharna site.
The district administration has imposed Section 144 in 500 meter circumference areas of NTPCs mining site situated at Chirudih village.
Officers of district and police administration have been posted their who are looking more vigilant this time. At the site the leveling work of the area is going on by Triveni Sainik Mining Company, whom NTPC has given the job. Meanwhile reports are coming from Barakagaon that on Wednesday evening the agitators have cut the road through which the vehicles of the company goes to the site.
