Coalition Govt dividing people in the name of language: BJP

Published on:

Making a scathing attack on the coalition government of Jharkhand, Bharatiya Janata Party's state spokesperson and former MLA of Godda Amit Mandal said in a press conference today that the government is making the people of the state fight in the name of language. He said that the government does not intend to give jobs to the unemployed youth of the state.

He said that this government is not Abua but Babua government as it is playing with language and identity of people. Mandal said that the coalition government is conspiring to eliminate the original culture, languages and tribal identity of Jharkhand.

He said that the local languages of Jharkhand were ignored and removed, Mundari from Khunti, Bhojpuri from Palamu-Garhwa, Angika and Kurukh from Godda, these languages were removed from the census form without counting the population.

He said that BJP is not against any language, but we strongly oppose this act of removing languages like Angika, Bhojpuri and Mundari. He said that when Kurmali was removed, why did JLKM remain silent? It clearly means that their movement was only a means of electoral gain and helping the grand alliance.

He said that there was injustice on the basis of language in J-TET 2025 too, earlier when the BJP government was in power, Bhojpuri was added to the regional language with the efforts of Minister Mithilesh Thakur and MP Nishikant Dubey, but today again injustice was done to the youth by removing it.

He said that the Cabinet did not listen to the representatives, Minister Radha Krishna Kishore and MLA Deepika Pandey Singh also said in writing to add Angika, but the Cabinet ignored it.

He said that it is an insult to regional identity, if there are MLAs and ministers who take oath in Angika, then why is Angika not being considered a regional language?

Mandal said that Angika was there in the 2016 J-TET, then why not now? Angika was removed from the exam with the aim of insulting the people of Godda. He said that the government is deliberately complicating J-TET so that the youth can be deprived of jobs by making an excuse.

He said that the youth were cheated in the guise of Khatian identity, on one hand there is talk of Khatian policy, on the other hand by removing Angika, those youth who are Angika speakers were cheated.

He said that are Godda, Palamu, Garhwa not a part of Jharkhand? The government should clarify whether these districts are not of Jharkhand? If yes, then why are their languages being sidelined?

Mandal warned the government that if this injustice with languages continues, then BJP and tribal society together will run a mass movement from the road to the assembly.

On the question of language, Amit Mandal asked the ministers, MLAs and MPs of the ruling party that Minister Radhakrishna Kishore should tell whether Magahi is spoken in Palamu-Garhwa or not? Deepika Pandey Singh, who took oath in Angika, does not know that Angika is also spoken in Godda. Minister Sanjay Yadav also does not know whether Angika speakers are in majority in Godda. MP Kalicharan Munda should tell whether Mundari is spoken in Khunti or not, if yes, then why was it removed?

State media co-incharge Ashok Badaik and Yuva Morcha state president Shashank Raj were present in the press conference.
