Armed miscreants riding on two motorcycles shot dead one Parveen Rai, a coal transporter on a broad daylight incident that took place at South Chasnala Colony area under Patherdih police station on Wednesday and escaped.
Rai was sitting in his office when the incident took place. According to eyewitnesses the criminals first opened indiscriminate fire to intimidate people and then entered the office of the victim and opened fire at him leading to his death.
Another person's Raj Kishor Singh also received bullet injuries and is under treatment. Locals rushed Rai to Chasnal CHC hospital but doctors declared him dead.
Sore over the incident, locals blocked Sindri Chasnala road with body demanding action against criminals. Meanwhile, Dhanbad MLA Raj Sinha reached Chasnala CHC and met the victim's family members. He called upon senior police officers and demanded immediate action in this case.
