A case had been registered against Electrosteel Castings ltd and Electrosteel Steels Pvt ltd in connection with allocation of Parbatpur coal block in the year 2005 at Boakro district in Jharkhand, said a CBI official.
A team of CBI sleuths carried out searches at ESl, Prabatpur about 35 kms from the district headquarters of Bokaro on Sunday.
Besides Parbatpur search were conducted on other four locations in Jharkhand and West Bengal, said the official. “A fresh case in connection with alleged irregularities was registered against the ESl in the allocation of coal blocks for its Pig Iron plant at Bokaro”, added the official.
