The Union Coal Secretary SK Srivastava has said that the CMPDI needs to give more emphasis on the outside consultancy jobs. In a review meeting headed by Union Coal Secretary SK Srivastava various issues like importance of underground mining, control of Jharia mine fires, development of underground coal gasification, environmental issues, mine closure planning and emphasis on washeries was discussed in detail.
“Major role has to be played by the CMPDI not only for CIl but also for the country as a whole with regard to policy formulation on the major issues like UCG etc,” said Srivastava.
CMPDI CMD A.K.Debnath, Director(t/crd) S.Saran, Director(t/es) D K.Ghosh, Director(t/rd& t) Shri R.K.Chopra, CVO Shri MK Jha were also present in the meeting.
