While the ruling collation released its Common Minimum Programme (CMP) with much fanfare on Monday, the Opposition parties ridiculed it saying that there was nothing new in store for the common man of Jharkhand. The Opposition said that the Congress has been mocking at the poor people of Jharkhand.
JVM leader Pradeep Yadav was highly critical of the CMP and said that the coalition should have fixed a time-frame for execution of its plans. “It is just a new cover given to old schemes already running in one form or the other. They should have fixed a 16-months target and come-up with special plans. There is no target in the agenda. It says nothing on corruption. It is just eyewash and a directionless programme,” said Yadav.
The BJP, on the other hand, said that the CMP was formed by the Congress to fool poor people of the State. “The programme sounds good to ears but what about implementationIJ Planning is always easy but execution is not, especially given the fact that the State is facing acute crisis of resources and skilled manpower,” said former Deputy CM and senior BJP leader Raghuwar Das.
“This programme should have been time bound. They have an agreement for 10-4 seats for Parliamentary elections. The CMP does not have anything to do with the betterment of people of the State. It’s rather a farce. Union Minister Jairam Ramesh has himself said that this government was made out of ‘compulsion’ focusing on lok Sabha elections. I would say that this programme should have been named as Common Minimum Programme for Parliament (CMPP),” he added.
Das said that the UPA could not even decide Poverty line parameters in nine years of rule so what would one expect from it. “The coalition has put Good Governance at the last spot in their CMP priorities. This shows that they are not serious. They have not even cleared their stand on domicile policy, which is very important for deciding roadmap of development in the State,” he added.
