Chief Minister Raghubar Das has asked the BJP Kisan Morcha leaders to hold ‘Kisan Chaupals’ at the block and village level with the farmers after they come back following day’s hard work in the evening.

The Chief Minister was addressing the party leaders during the inaugural ceremony of the first session of the second day of two-day State working committee meeting of ‘BJP Kisan Morcha’ at the State Fisheries Department Auditorium.

“There must be a discussion over how to increase the income of farmers through adopting other activities like horticulture, dairy farming or pisciculture and how they could get three produces out of their fields by taking advantage of Prime Minister’s Irrigation Programme,” said the CM. The State Government is also planning to dig a pond for every five-acre area of land so that the water table is maintained and the farmers get benefitted out of that, he added.

“To make Jharkhand strong, the farm produces must be increased where there are ample opportunities for economic development and self employment. Hence, dairy farming and pisciculture are being promoted in the State besides, farming,” he added.

The CM also expressed confidence that BJP Kisan Morcha will be able to expand the mass base among farmers through the schemes run by the State Government.

National president of Kisan Morcha and Parliamentarian Virendra Singh Mast, on the other hand, stressed on organic farming in the State so that Jharkhand could also be known in the world for farming along with minerals.

“A farmer is the only producer in this country, whose produces’ rate is not decided by him. Rather it is decided by the mill owners,” said Mast.
