Jharkhand on Tuesday completed 22 years of its inception. On this occasion, a State-level function was held at historic Morhabadi ground in Capital, where Chief Minister Hemant Soren launched various welfare schemes along with inaugurating several new projects. The chief guest of statehood function was JMM chief and party Rajya Sabha member Shibu Soren, who played a pivotal role in creation of separate State of Jharkhand around two decades back.
Chief Minister Soren addressing the gathering said that Jharkhand creates a different identity in the entire country due to its mineral wealth, but also as land of heroes. Today, is not only the foundation day of the state; it is also the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda. Our forefathers fought for their rights and fought many battles.
Soren, stressing on strengthening the rural economy, said that efforts are made to keep the poor away from the mainstream, but the government is committed to emancipation of the poor. He said, “Poverty and illiteracy is a curse, apply for a loan for your employment. You can take out a loan for education. The poor do not get loans because there is a CNT-SPT law in the State. How much benefit does the bank give to the poor of the state? The government is working in this direction. Loan is being made available to you at low interest. If the farmer is not able to pay ten thousand to the bank, then a notice comes, but these big capitalists run away abroad with crores.” He further said, “The state government has tried to strengthen the rural economy through Birsa Harit Gram Yojana, Pashudhan Yojana, Employment Generation Scheme, Jal Samriddhi Yojana, Phulo Jhano Ashirwad Yojana.”
On the occasion several new schemes were launched which included newly-drafted investment policies, CM Sarthi Yojana, Guruji Credit Card Yojana and Eklavya Skill Scheme at the Statehood Day function. Jharkhand Industrial Park & Logistics Policy, Electric Vehicles Policy and the Jharkhand Ethanol Production Promotion Policy among others were rolled out by the Chief Minister.
The Lalpur vegetable market was also inaugurated on the occasion of the state’s foundation day here on Tuesday. The market is designed to check traffic congestion and assist sellers in running their market on a platform rather than the roadside. Around 101 shops will be there for the meat and fish sellers on the ground floor and around 250 shops will be provided to the vegetable and fruit sellers on the first floor. The vendors are ecstatic that they would get a permanent place for their business.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated the new wing of Sadar hospital. With the coming of new wing medical services at Sadar hospital will be improved. Piped drinking water schemes for different districts were also launched on the occasion by Chief Minister Soren.
