CM to spare time for bridging gap between Govt, party

Despite his busy schedule and work pressure, Chief Minister Raghubar Das would spare time for BJP’s common workers and leaders. Day and time for the meeting has also been fixed for the purpose so that it can be convenient for them to take their grievances directly to the Chief Minister.

After a high-level meeting of senior party leaders, including MPs and MlAs, the State unit of the ruling BJP has fixed entire Wednesday for sharing grievances with the CM.

“Host of leaders and party workers while agreeing with the compulsions of the Chief Minister expressed their reservations that they find it hard in meeting him. For those who come from far flung areas of the State with certain problems, not getting access to the CM is punitive. Thus, it has been decided to keep every Wednesday as day when the CM would meet workers and leaders of the party exclusively,” said a senior party functionary present in the meeting.

It is learnt that the CM had to face a tough time in the meeting on Thursday when large number of grievances came pouring in. Earlier, the party had made arrangement of ‘Janta Darbar’ which first got irregularised and later discontinued. This made organisational general secretary Saudan Singh to intervene who stressed over better coordination between Government and the party.

“Mutual coordination is a must between the organisation and the Government and both are essential part of governance. Now onwards the CM would meet party workers regularly where they can share their issues with him,” said Saudan Singh while addressing the gathering. It has also been made clear that in the first half of every Wednesday the CM would meet party MPs and MlA while later in the day any common party worker and office bearer can meet him in person.

This apart, the party leaders also lauded successful membership drive that has brought 12 crore new entrants into the BJP nationally. State BJP president Ravindra Rai said on the occasion that elected representatives of the party should proactively spread information among the people about good works done by the Center and State Governments. “The MPs and MlAs have also been told to fix day and time to meet common people and party workers of their respective constituencies and the practice should continue on regular basis,” said a leader.

Also, discussion about opening party offices in every district, organising workshops in every district and block before June 20 and special consultation drive to be run from June 23 to July 6 also took place in the meeting. The party also decided to celebrate Yoga Day on June 21 with all fanfare.
