Chief Minister Raghubar Das has asked the DCs and SPs to keep a close eye on the activities of anti-social elements during the coming festive season and also directed them to simplify their style of working by fixing accountability.
Das, while holding a meeting with the DCs and SPs, also added that corruption increases with complexity which also encourages middlemen.
"Try to remove the administrative complexities as they give rise to corruption as corruption-free Jharkhand is our priority. Simplify the rules and connect the masses with government schemes," said Das. "Everyone will have to work together for making Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for New India," he added.
Das also asked the Deputy Commissioners to prepare programmes visualizing the goal of a particular district in the next five years.
"Even though the Prime Minister has appealed to make the country Open Defecation-Free (ODF) by 2019, we are working towards making Jharkhand ODF by 2018 and we have also received some good results in this regard," he said.
Directing the DCs to give priority to it, he declared that more than 90 per cent of the villages have been made ODF. "Make every village ODF by October 2 and also make those toilets functional which are not in use," said the CM. DCs should make schemes and fix a timeframe and accountability to it, get people connected with it, he added.
The CM also directed the DCs to start a cleanliness drive of toilets from September 15 to October 2.
The CM also asked the DCs to work proactively during the coming festive season and prepare a list of anti-social elements after identifying them and also send a notice under Section 107 of IPC to them keeping a close eye on them.
"Patrolling in sensitive areas must be beefed up deciding the route of procession during Durga Puja and Moharram. law and order must be so effective that no one should dare to commit crime, he added.
"Identify the rumour-mongers and take immediate action against them. launch S-Drive from September as some anti-national powers are active in the State also," said Das. "Take stern action against them after identifying them," he added.
