Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday said that there is a need to make solid arrangements for the people of the State in the health sector. Holding a review meeting of Health, Medical education and Family welfare department here on the second day of his review meeting the CM asked officials to facilitate health centres and hospitals in 264 Blocks, 45 Sub Divisions and 24 districts with modern facilities so that people can get service 24x7.
The CM told officials that to get this work done in the ground as soon as possible, start the work. “Put up proposals for necessary human resources in these hospitals, so that the shortage of physicians, nurses, para medical staff and others can be made. Put special emphasis on better management.
Buildings that are ready or under construction in the block, subdivision and district should also be used in this work. There is no need to build new health buildings at the moment. Many buildings are ready, which are not useful for the health department.
In such a situation, construction of new building is meaningless. The government will decide on the construction of new buildings on the basis of utility,” he said.
The CM said, “We could not eradicate the disease like TB from the State. About one lakh employees are working for the government in the field of health. Use their abilities properly. Provide better facilities to the people of the State. Build confidence in them by your own actions. Youth should also come forward for ANM and JNM.
The Health Department should encourage such youth. Only women are in this area. The youth should also study it. This effort will also be successful in the direction of providing employment to the youth and such youth will prove to be a boon for the villagers in the field of health.”
Soren said that MGM at Jamshedpur and SAIL’s Hospital at Bokaro should work towards repairing the hospital. Renovate MGM Hospital beds, floors and other essentials. For the strengthening of the SAIL hospital at Bokaro, there should be an effort to start work by talking to the SAIL chairman, so that the people of the surrounding district can benefit, he said.
