On the 229th birth anniversary of Martyr Budhu Bhagat, the hero of the Larka movement, Chief Minister Hemant Soren garlanded his photo and paid homage to the martyr.
The CM said on the occasion that celebrating the birth anniversary of the martyr is a matter of pride for the whole Jharkhand. He said that in 1832, before the 1857 War of Independence, the heroic revolution against the British rule in Jharkhand was fought by Budhu Bhagat.
This revolution is recorded in the pages of history as the ‘Larka Rebellion’. With this, he had been continuously fighting against the exploitation of landlords, moneylenders. The contribution of martyr Veer Budhu Bhagat in the freedom struggle of the country can never be forgotten. His ideals are a source of inspiration for one and all. A better society and State can be built only by following their path, said the CM.
