Coming down heavily on rampant practice of religious conversion in the State, Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Tuesday said that the Constitution does not give permission to take advantage of people’s poverty by alluring them for employment or money. Addressing the State BJP officials and workers during the two-day Special Working Committee meeting in Ranchi, Das also added that the practice must be stopped in this State.
“The puzzle of ‘Changai’ must be revealed. If a person suffering from stomachache and cancer gets well just by drinking water, then doctors are pointlessly doing research work in this country,” said the CM. Das, however, said that he respects all religions and appealed that one should remain in his own religion.
Missionaries will have to answer whether any changes were brought in the life of those who were converted to Christianity, if not, and then they must be brought back to their original religion, said the CM.
“If conversion is done in the backdrop of confusion, fear and greed, then it will be dealt strictly and those found involved in it will be sent to Hotwar Jail,” said the CM.
Referring to Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s comment that Das was a “Bhagya-Bharose” CM, Das said, “Yes I am a ‘Bhagya-Bharose’ CM as ‘Bhagya’ is with them who do karma and ‘Bharosa’ remains with those with who have the confidence of the people.” Nitish is a ‘namdaar’ CM while I am a ‘kaamdaar’ CM.
Targeting JVM chief Babulal Marandi, who recently visited Bihar to meet Nitish Kumar, Das said that Nitish, along with the leaders, who have been rejected and lost their ground in Jharkhand, is planning to launch a third front. “They must tell whether they want to make Jharkhand a third grade State,” he said.
The CM also talked about launching a Skill Shakti Scheme for girls and opening of a Karigar University in the lines of Raksha Shakti University.
later briefing the mediapersons after the meeting, party spokesperson Pradeep Sinha said that it has been decided to organise a big rally at the occasion of Sate Foundation Day on November 15, participated by all districts in the State. “location for the rally, however, will be decided later,” said Sinha.
In a bid to reach out to the remote villages, it was also decided to hold organisational meetings in the remote villages, Sinha added. Sinha further said that a decision to complete the formation of district and mandal working committee by November 15 was also taken during the meeting.
Next Working Committee meeting will be held at Saraikela-Kharsawan on January 11-12.
Sinha said that national general secretary P Murlidhar Rao was also arriving in Ranchi on Wednesday who will take part in various mandal and district-level meetings in Ranchi and Bokaro. He will be available in the party office on Thursday to hear the problems of the party workers.
